It’s probably not surprising to learn that people facing infertility have twice the rate of depression, and that 30% of those with recurrent pregnancy loss meet the criteria for major depression. An infertility diagnosis touches nearly every aspect of your life- emotionally, mentally, relationally, and financially. I started Infertility Support of California after my own experiences of loss and infertility and my struggle to find support that felt authentic, individualized and actually helpful.
Working with a therapist who has lived experience means that I connect to what you’re going through. While no one’s experience is the same, I understand the enormity of it. The uncertainty, the loss of control, the impossible choices, and the whole new language of acronyms and medications that you’re learning.
Therapy offers a place to process, explore, repair, and regain a sense of control in a situation where control feels nearly impossible.
